Tobyhanna Township residents and businesses are required by ordinance to recycle. The items to be recycled are:

Corrugated Cardboard and Boxes; Paper-office, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, shredded paper, books, cereal boxes and the like; Plastics - all numbers accepted; Aluminum and Bi-metal cans; Plastic bags and film; Glass-all colors.

The Township has three options for recycling.

The Transfer Station hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and closed on Sundays and Holidays. The center accepts recyclables as well as bags of household trash and large items to be disposed of. THERE IS A FEE FOR THIS SERVICE.

2.) In the spring and fall of the year, the Township holds clean-up days at the station, which is operated by Panther Waste Systems. On these clean-up days, recyclables are not accepted and rates are charged according to a schedule set by Panther Waste Systems.

Proof of residency or property ownership is required to utilize this facility such as a tax bill, lease agreement or PPL bill.
Please call the Transfer Station at (570) 646-5178 during hours of operation for further information.
