TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
The Township of Tobyhanna is in the process of updating their Emergency Operation Plan.
The Pennsylvania Emergency Services Code (35 Pa. C.S.) requires each Municipality to have an emergency management plan in place.
The plan requires, among other things, a Notification and Resource Manual that provides a list and means of contacting the requisite local resources.
The Emergency Operation Plans Notification and Resource Manual must be kept current. One of the functions of the manual is to help identify
those residents who require special assistance during emergencies. All personal information contained within the manual is confidential and will not be
used for any other purpose and is not subject to "The Right to Know Act."
If you or someone you know meets the below listed criteria please register with the Township.
1. Handicapped residents
2. Residents requiring ambulance assistance
3. Visually or hearing impaired residents
4. Non-English speaking residents
Please note all registrations must be in writing. Residents requiring special assistance in the event of an emergency are asked to complete and

Monroe County Emergency Management is offering this system to strengthen the safety of our communities and to enhance the County’s response to any emergency. We will use the Secure Alert Network to contact you during a major crisis or emergency and offer warning, provide guidance or request assistance. The Network delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to you through your registered devices such as:
• email account (work, home, other)
• cell phone (via SMS)
• pager
• smartphone/PDA (BlackBerry, Treo & and other handhelds)
When an incident or emergency occurs, authorized senders will instantly notify you using the system. It is your personal connection to real-time updates, instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, who to contact and other important information.
This service is dependent upon external services such as your individual wireless carrier or e-mail delivery service. As such, Monroe County cannot assume any responsibility or liability for its use and can make no guarantees that notifications will be received by the intended recipient.
